“My’ workers’ comp TTD check is late. Adjuster won’t call me back. What can I do?”
1.) First, when you say “late,” be sure it is really late. Check the dates of service on the last TTD check received. They are only obligated to pay you at the end of the pay period, not the beginning or ahead of schedule. And they only have to pay you the same way you would receive regular pay (weekly if you get weekly checks, bi-weekly if you get bi-weekly checks, etc.)
2.) The work comp adjuster or case worker won’t call you back? Do you have a law degree or years of Illinois trial experience in your back pocket to scare them to call you back? If not, then call a workers’ compensation attorney like me for a free talk, and I can answer any questions you have about the process and explain what I or any qualified experienced workers’ comp attorney could do to help get you your checks on time, among many other benefits in the long run. I won’t pressure you, and any good lawyer would be the same way. You owe it to yourself to just talk it through with one. Call (312)-782-8372 for a free private talk, ask for work comp attorney Peter Corti, and I would be honored to help.
